Principle

The Bulwell Academy will be available for the whole community to use. Once construction has commenced and further details are available we will add them here.

Advocates

  1. Andrew Buchanan, Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire

"My father's first cousin was Henry Mellish, after whom the existing school is named. Although the name will disappear when it is merged with the River Leen School, I don't mind because I think the new Academy will be a great success. I'm sure it's going to change things for the better throughout the community and it's going to provide the skilled people we will need in the future. The Academy is a tremendous investment for Bulwell and I wish it every good fortune."

Sir Andrew Buchanan, Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire
  2. Simon Clough, businessman & ex-Henry Mellish student

“In my experience, school leavers generally have very little idea of what actually goes on in the business world. I think that The Bulwell Academy can make a real difference through its links with the business community and its modern curriculum, and really prepare its students for the world of work.”
