Post 16
It is fantastic to be able to offer students the opportunity to continue their studies with us beyond the age of 16. Students can continue pathways they have started during key stage 4 and to develop the independent learning skills that will be vital for them either at university or in the workplace.
All students attending the academy have the opportunity to attend the academy post 16 sixth form whatever their results at key stage 4. Clearly it is an advantage to them to continue their studies in an environment that they are comfortable with and with people they know. They can choose from courses at all levels that will enable them to make real choices about their future destination.
We expect our post 16 students to be role models for the rest of the academy. There will be many opportunities for the students to demonstrate their leadership qualities and develop the independence and confidence that will benefit them in the future.
