Principals Introduction
Welcome to our brand new website for The Bulwell Academy. The academy will open in September 2009 to replace the two secondary schools currently in the community. The academy will be sited in new state-of-the-art facilities on Hucknall Lane in Bulwell and will cater for students from the age of 11 and will have its own sixth form.
I took up post as Principal on January 1st 2008 and I am really excited about the opportunity we have got to make a difference to young peoples’ lives within the Bulwell community. At the same time I understand how important it is that I get all the planning right now as we have only one go at this and it is essential that everything is in place by the time the academy doors open.
The Bulwell Academy will offer a different educational experience and you can learn more about this on other areas of the site. We are aiming high in everything we do to demonstrate that this can then lead to high standards of achievement by all the young people from the local community.
